Lawn Care Technician

Northern Michigan Escapes is currently hiring for our lawn care department with both full time and part time positions available. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lawn Care Technician to join our team. As a Lawn Care Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the health and appearance of our clients’ lawns. You will use your knowledge of lawn care techniques and tools to diagnose and treat common lawn problems, including weeds, pests, and disease. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure that all assigned properties are maintained to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

While serving in this role, your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform lawn care services including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing at commercial and residential locations
  • Apply fertilizers and other treatments to control weeds, pests, and diseases
  • Operate and maintain lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers
  • Communicate with clients to ensure their satisfaction with lawn care services and address any concerns or questions they may have
  • Extract and dispose of invasive plants and weeds and other debris.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation for each job, including work orders, invoices, and timesheets
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for operating equipment and handling chemicals
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by performing basic routine maintenance and cleaning all trucks and equipment.

What We’re Looking For

 

  • Education:High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ideal Experience:1-year previous experience in lawn care or related field preferred
  • Other:Ability to use standard lawncare equipment

Essential Functions

 

  • Candidate must have knowledge of common lawn care techniques and tools
  • Candidate must have experience operating a riding lawn mower, a zero-turn lawn mower, a push mower and other lawn care tools.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently or as a team and have strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Candidate must have an attention to detail and safety and the ability to follow directions.
  • Candidate must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Candidate must have the ability to operate and maintain lawn care equipment safely and effectively
  • Candidate must have strong communication and customer service skills
  • Candidate must have the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stretch/reach, hear, see, hand/finger dexterity and drive a vehicle operate lawn care equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Must be free of physical limitations.

Schedule

Candidate will be expected to perform the duties required by the role on a full-time basis and devote all reasonable efforts to ensure the role is adequately performed with variation based on occupancy / season.
