Welcome to your Lake Charlevoix retreat

This lake home is the perfect Northern Michigan getaway for families looking to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories. Tucked into a private, wooded setting overlooking the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, the home blends historic charm with modern comfort. Originally built over 100 years ago, it has been thoughtfully expanded to accommodate today’s families. Be sure to check out the framed photo inside showing what the home looked like back in 1922.

The main level offers plenty of space to gather, with two queen bedrooms, two living rooms separated by a shared fireplace, and two dining areas. The spacious kitchen is fully updated with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and two dining islands. There’s also a snack and coffee bar with a beverage refrigerator, perfect for easy mornings and afternoons. Most TVs in the home are smart TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi is included.

Upstairs, you’ll find three additional bedrooms, including the primary suite with a king bed, full bathroom, and walk-out balcony. The remaining rooms include a bunk room for kids and a bedroom with two queen beds, making it easy to accommodate larger groups.

Outside, you’ll have access to a private dock that’s great for fishing and large enough to accommodate a 21-foot boat. A launch ramp is located at the end of the street, and South Arm Marina is just a short drive away.

The private beach is ideal for all ages. Younger guests can enjoy a shallow, sandy swimming area, while deeper water begins farther out past the dock. It’s a great setup for both swimming and fishing.

The South Arm of Lake Charlevoix is known for its warmer, sandy-bottom waters, making it one of the best spots on the lake for swimming and water sports. The quiet, wooded setting also offers frequent wildlife sightings and a peaceful break from busier areas. Pets are welcome with a non-refundable fee (charged separately if booking through a third party).

Local Events & Activities

In the summer, don’t miss East Jordan’s Freedom Festival, known for one of the best fireworks displays on Lake Charlevoix—easily enjoyed right from the beach or dock with a cozy fire and s’mores.

Head to Boyne City on Friday evenings for Stroll the Streets, featuring live music, family activities, and a fun small-town atmosphere.

For outdoor adventure, explore the Jordan Valley Trail System for hiking and biking, or spend a day on the Jordan River kayaking, canoeing, or fishing.

You’re just minutes from downtown East Jordan and less than 10 miles from Boyne City. In the winter, Boyne Mountain Resort is only 15 miles away, offering skiing, snowshoeing, and more. Golfers will also find several well-known courses nearby, including options at Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, and Bay Harbor.

Fall is especially beautiful here, with vibrant foliage and scenic views perfect for hiking or simply taking in the season.

For a day trip, Mackinac City is about an hour away. From there, you can cross the Mackinac Bridge into the Upper Peninsula or catch a ferry to Mackinac Island for a step back in time.

Whether you’re here for lake days, outdoor adventure, or quiet evenings by the fire, this home offers a comfortable and memorable Northern Michigan experience.

PLEASE NOTE: 4 wheel drive is strongly suggested in the winter months- this home has a very steep long driveway.

*Pet friendly with a non-refundable fee. Small dogs only please.

Summer on the Lake

Review by Angela B.
We enjoyed the size and set up of this rental for our large family vacation. Plenty of room and sleeping accommodations for our group of 11. Liked the cabin vibes and beautiful setting on calmer South Arm of the lake with terrific private beach and sunset views. Had a maintenance issue but property management resolved promptly. We brought a boat and it was difficult to dock on this pier. Very shallow around pier and no cleats to tie up. There is a lift, but very old, small. Also had to spend some time cleaning outdoor furniture on the deck and chairs near beach before we could use. Overall we had a great week.

Cozy Home on South Arm of Lake Charlevoix

Great area to vacation in up north Michigan around the Charlevoix area. The kids had a blast playing outside, swimming at the beach, and sleeping together in the bunk beds. Definitely would consider this location again. My only recommendation would be to update some of the outside features like the back grill. The outside of the house needs a little more upkeep but this is probably difficult as it is in the middle of the woods.

Fabulous Family Get-Away!

Our family of 8 had a marvelous time in this magical setting. Our adult kids rated this vacation a 10/10. The rental was clean, spacious and beautifully appointed. As the Mom, what I also appreciated was having a variety of spaces for gathering and quiet reading time . . . plenty of spaces in our togetherness. The large kitchen accommodated multiple people beautifully. More than anything we loved the sandy beach, swimming by the dock, time gathered around the table on the deck and the campfire. With enough comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms for all, this venue worked great for our group! We would love to book it again for next year.

Beautiful home with an even more beautiful view

We truly enjoyed our experience in Northern Michigan at this lovely home. The layout was perfect for our family of 8. We especially enjoyed spending time together in the large main area with open concept kitchen and living room areas and very comfy furniture as well as enjoying the view from the deck and dock. The sandy beach and shallow sandy entrance to the lake made the lake very fun to swim in. Water temperature quite warm in the low 70's. We enjoyed docking a boat on the property and renting kayaks and paddle boards from a local company. The property was very clean and the managers were responsive and prompt. The kitchen could have been stocked better for cooking: no real decent knives, limited pot holders and kitchen towels; limited spatulas and other kitchen utensils; poor quality pots/pans but we were able to be creative and enjoy some decent meals cooked at home. Also poor water pressure made taking showers in more than one bathroom at the same time a challenge but we worked it out. We didn't feel safe using the grill on the back deck because when we turned on the gas line to the grill at the gas tank, we smelled gas and we were concerned there may be a leak in the line extending from the tank to the grill. But this was not a deal breaker for us.
