I was born in and raised in Virginia. Upon graduating from high school I needed to expand my horizons and enrolled at Rutgers University in New Brunswick where I thoroughly enjoyed “city” life intermingled with college studies. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2003.
After briefly living in Center City Philadelphia, and getting a taste of the adult work/commuting world – including working at the Salvador Dali 100 year retrospective exhibit, a memory I’ll always cherish – I moved back to New Jersey. I lived there for another 11 years, settling in and around Monmouth County, a hidden New Jersey Shore gem. It was great to be a “local” and I came to appreciate the nine-month off-season, strolling the near-deserted boardwalk and eating at favorite restaurants without the wait.
Throughout my life, beginning at 6 or 7 years old, I visited Charlevoix with family. I was fascinated by the fossils, the clear water and lake life in general. It’s different from the ocean, but better in so many ways. My extended family resided in the Charlevoix area for over one hundred years.
I decided, after briefly living in Colorado, that I wanted to own land, a house and be in an area closer to family. Charlevoix County would provide me with this, and I already knew I loved the area!
So, in 2019 I purchased a home in Boyne City. I enjoy the peace and serenity with my dog Tank and boyfriend Jesse.
I enjoy estate sales, taking care of my land, day tripping into new and familiar areas, picking my own fruit at local orchards, meeting new people and creating art.
I look forward to being a valuable asset to the team at Northern Michigan Escapes.
